Belated Introductions

Hello, my name is Shanu Walpita and I’ll start with a confession: I am VERY behind with these blog posts (hence the belated introductions). Anyway, let’s get on with it.

I’m a course leader at London College of Fashion in the School of Media and Communication. My course is BA (Hons) Creative Direction for Fashion. The course challenges the intersection between fashion, communication and divergent practices.

I am also the co-founder of ‘Emergence of Tomorrow’, a visionary online discussion space and community think-tank. The series acknowledges the expansiveness and collective ecosystem needed to effectively imagine new systems / worlds. Previous guests include: Jack Self, Shumon Basar, Keller Easterling, AuroBoros, SoFar, Elvia Wilk, NeoMetabolism, Ana Viktorka Dzinic, Alec Leach and more.

I am currently undertaking the PgCert course to expand my knowledge of inclusive pedagogies and gain further confidence in my teaching practice. I’m also interested in expanding my network with other educators from different sectors, schools, institutions and backgrounds.
